Description
The MUTCD recommends stop signs for intersections like Cherry at Spring that have restricted sight distance for the prevailing vehicle speeds. At the posted speed limit of 25 mph, a vehicle will travel 36 ft in one second. With the restricted sight distance at this intersection, a driver, bicyclist or pedestrian would have less than two seconds to clear the intersection before being struck by an oncoming vehicle because of the blind spot caused by the house on the corner.
