Description
I requested a traffic calming assessment on this part of Westwood a few months ago before it was repaved. I never received a response and my request was deleted. Now that it's been repaved and restriped in the exact same way, I just want to know if there ever was an assessment and what the result was. Part of the issue is that the westbound lane is not wide enough for parked vehicles and traveling vehicles, so people end up parking on the sidewalk.

- Staff · June 9, 202585% of people driving on this section of Westwood Avenue are traveling at or below 35 MPH. The posted speed limit is 30 MPH. VDOT conducted a study of Westwood Avenue that included a recommendation for road reorganization to create space for bike lanes. Before making changes, the Department needs to receive and review the extent and feedback from VDOT’s community engagement. If the community supports the change and funding is available, the Department will schedule the restriping.
