Description
Vehicles frequently speed on E Byrd St past the intersection with S 11th St. I have witnessed several near-misses of vehicle-on-vehicle accidents from speeding vehicles on E Byrd St almost hitting vehicles exiting S 11th St or vehicles attempting to back-in angle park in the street parking spaces. Please consider new speed control measures.

- Staff · March 25, 2025The average speed on Byrd St between 10th St and the Downtown Express overpass ranges between 20-22mph. The latest three years of DMV crash data (1.1.22– 12.31.24) did not reveal any reported crashes in this same street section. Curve warning sign with an advisory speed of 20mph and chevron signs are currently in place. New speed control measures are not planned at this time.
