Description
It appears that the railing along the sidewalk leading to the door at SmartStop Self Storage is in the right-of-way. I walk through this area about once a week and have to cross the street twice because of this railing. If this sidewalk/railing is on the property, please disregard. I don't believe this is normal, though, in that the only path through this area is able to be blocked by a railing in one location, when the rest of the sidewalk is open.

- Staff · March 24, 2025Good afternoon, we have researched this location and determined that the platforms/railings are legally located within the public right-of-way per City Council Ordinances adopted circ. 1914 and 1917. We also recognize that pedestrian activity and vehicular traffic are much different today as compared to 100+ years ago. We will request that the Department's Transportation Engineering Division review the location for any potential modifications.
