Description

There is a new coffee shop opening at the corner of 32nd and S St at 1301 N 32nd St. S street is a straight through from 25th to Oakwood and cars go very fast through this small section and there will be a lot of new foot traffic coming and going from this location. The construction has already started and with street parking on both sides of each of these intersecting streets, there is very little room and traffic needs to be slowed for pedestrian safety. I am the general manager and scared.

DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of S St and 32nd St does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop. A speed table has been recently installed on S St between 33rd St and 34th St to help address speeding on S St.
