- Staff · March 3, 2025The 85th percentile speed* sample on Fendall Ave between Hooper St and Brookland Park Blvd measured 23mph. The samples are in general compliance with the 25-mph posted speed. Fendall Ave has a speed table between Lancaster Rd and Norwood Ave and curb extensions at Hooper St and at Essex St. No additional traffic calming measures are currently planned. (*The 85th percentile speed is the speed at or below which 85 percent of the drivers will operate with open roads and favorable conditions. The assumption underlying the 85th percentile speed is that most drivers will operate their vehicle at speeds they perceive to be safe.)
