Description
I am requesting two additional stop signs at Altamont and Leigh. This intersection is already a two-way stop and I am requesting to make it a four-way stop. The addition of bike lanes and increased traffic in Scott's Addition have made it functionally a four-way stop. Adding the two stop signs will make the traffic pattern clear and understandable to all.

- Staff · February 7, 2025The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Leigh St and Altamont Ave does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop. To enhance intersection sight distance Leigh St has No Parking signs on three corners at Altamont Ave and a fire hydrant on the other corner.
