Description

All of S Street, from Oakwood to N 25th Street, requires major improvements to both the roads and sidewalks. Last year, two children were struck by a vehicle while waiting for the bus, and there are multiple accidents on S Street every year. Additionally, the lack of connected sidewalks along S Street makes the area unsafe for pedestrians, as it forces them to walk in the road. This intersection is in terrible condition! Can DPW please perform a new traffic calming assessment for this area.

Forwarded your comments about the lack of connected sidewalks on S St between 25th St and Oakwood Ave to the Department of Public Works’ Capital Improvement Plan Coordinator for consideration in the next Capital Improvement Plan. Another Engineer will comment on traffic calming.

In the past two years, S Street has had a mini roundabout and speed table put in. 95 percent of people along the entirety of S Street are driving under the speed limit. No additional traffic calming will be implemented at this time.
