Gaps in traffic for pedestrians to safely cross is a key issue for pedestrians crossing the street. Marked crosswalks alone are insufficient since pedestrian crash risk may be increased by only providing a marked crosswalk. There are sufficient gaps in traffic at Harlan Circle and Oak Lane especially given the all-way stop at this intersection, so crosswalks are not planned. Also, the latest eight full years of DMV crash data (1.1.16 – 12.31.23) showed no reported pedestrian crashes.
