Description

Traffic races through the 12 hundred block of north 35th street at a rapid pace making it difficult for people to get in and out of their cars. If you don't move quickly, you risk getting hit by a car. The volume of traffic on R street, 35th street and Oakwood avenue is heavy, fast and dangerous, A speed table in the 12 hundred block of North 35th street would slow it down and make the neighborhood safer for everyone, especially for our children and seniors.

The 85th percentile speed, the speed that 85 percent of drivers travel at or below, is one of the best indicators of a reasonable and safe speed. The 85th percentile speed on 35th St is 16 mph. The speed samples show compliance with the posted 25 mph speed. All-way stops on 35th St exist at R St and at Canepa St. Given the speed sample and the all-way stopped conditions we are not currently planning speed tables on 35th St.
