Description
Please assess the 500 block of South Sheppard. Northbound traffic from Maplewood causes a speed hazard—especially to children playing in the park. There is a speed table in the 600 block of South Sheppard that is effective against Southbound traffic coming from 195/Maplewood, but there is nothing to calm Northbound traffic.

Comments
- Staff · December 16, 2024Cityworks ID: 544240
- Staff · December 17, 2024The 85th percentile speed, the speed that 85 percent of drivers travel at or below, is one of the best indicators of a reasonable and safe speed. The 85th percentile speed samples on Sheppard St between Idlewood Ave and Maplewood Ave measured 23 mph. The speed samples are in general compliance with the 25-mph speed for residential streets and speed tables are not planned on Sheppard St between Idlewood Ave and Maplewood Ave. Sheppard St between Idlewood Ave and Maplewood Ave has all-way stops at both Idlewood and at Maplewood.
