Description
On ladies mile road, there is frequent foot traffic of children walking to and from school bus stops, among many other pedestrians daily. It is a neighborhood road to those that live in ginger park/terrace and not a through road. There are no crosswalks or stop signs along this stretch of ladies mile to make cars stop for pedestrians, and therefore they often treat it as a through road going well over 25. I would request new sidewalk for this section for similar reasons if I could through 311.

Comments
- Staff · December 12, 2024Cityworks ID: 544043
- Staff · December 13, 2024There are sufficient gaps in traffic on Ladies Mile Rd at Montrose Ave allowing pedestrians to cross the street. There are no reported pedestrian crashes from DMV for the latest eight-year period. Crosswalks are not currently planned. DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The nearby intersections with Ladies Mile Rd do not meet the MUTCD traffic requirements for an all-way stop. This includes Montrose Ave, Moss Side Ave and Edgewood Ave. Forwarded a request for sidewalks on Ladies Mie Rd in the area of Montrose Ave. to the Department of Public Works’ Capital Improvement Plan Coordinator for consideration in the next Capital Improvement Plan.
