Description
The intersections of Roseneath and both Leigh St and Moore St get a lot of traffic congestion and are dangerous for both vehicles and pedestrians. Cars do not stop at crosswalks and heavy congestion can make it difficult and dangerous for cars turning onto Roseneath from side streets. I just watched a car come scarily close to plowing into three pedestrians crossing the road at a crosswalk. An all way stop and/or other pedestrian safety measures would help make things much safer.

- Staff · December 5, 2024DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. DPW will collect traffic samples to determine if the intersection of Roseneath Rd and Leigh St meets the conditions set forth in the MUTCD for an all-way stop. (FYI - All traffic samples are outsourced.) The intersection of Roseneath Rd and Moore St does not meet the MUTCD traffic requirements for an all-way stop.
- Staff · December 17, 2024The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Roseneath Rd and Leigh St does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. DPW has recently made substantial investments in Scotts Addition with paving, sidewalks, crosswalks (normal and raised), bike lanes, marking, signing, etc.
