Description

Cars go by our home and street (on which many children constantly play outisde) entirely too fast. The speed limit is 25mph and the cars speed by at 35-45 mph. For the safety of our children, we need a soeed bump here as soon as possible.

    The 85th percentile speed, the speed that 85 percent of drivers travel at or below, is one of the best indicators of a reasonable and safe speed. The 85th percentile speed sample on Garland Ave between Hooper St and Brookland Park Blvd measured 15mph. The samples are in general compliance with the 25-mph speed for residential streets and speed tables are not planned.
