Description

The speed humps installed along Lakeview Ave last year, are about 70 - 75% ineffective in slowing traffic, especially eastbound traffic from the direction of South Robinson. It is a downhill gradient and this appears to encourage an increase in speed, only slowing (sometimes) to go over the speed hump. The installation of a 3-way stop at the intersection of Lakeview Ave and S Stafford Ave would likely be an effective traffic calming measure.

DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Lakeview Ave and Stafford Ave does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop.
