Description

Would like to request a speed hump placed on Maple Ave near Kensington Ave. With the new light on Libbie - traffic has increased and people speed down Maple to get to Patterson. There are children walking to St. Christopher's and St. Catherine's - and would suggest speed humps to help slow down traffic. There was a recent speed hump placed near Cary on Maple and would like to request an additional one near Patterson.

More traffic calming on Maple between Grove and Patterson is not planned at this time based on the following: - Stopped conditions at o Grove o York o Fergusson o Patterson - Traffic circles at o Guthrie o Christopher - Splitter islands – four islands - 85th percentile speeds o The 85th percentile speed, the speed that 85 percent of drivers travel at or below, is one of the best indicators of a reasonable and safe speed. ? Between Grove and Guthrie = 22mph ? Between Guthrie and Patterson = 24mph The speed sample is in general compliance with the 25-mph speed for residential streets and speed tables are not planned.
