ID: DPW000172143) ( Cityworks ID: 528233 ) . We have still not seen this activity. School is back in session and along with weekend warriors, the speeds are unacceptable and dangerous. On the 23rd of September 2024 a young woman had to be pulled from under a car on Cherokee at Hickory. She had been knocked off her bike by a car, thankfully she will be okay. Another warning that this road is dangerous. Please help us to ensure that the speeders do not win again.

- Staff · November 26, 2024City Council approved additional $200 fine signs for speeding a few years ago and several signs are posted in each direction to help address speeding. Fortunately, no severe crashes have occurred on this portion of Cherokee Road going back to 2016. The Department will continue to prioritize the high injury street network and schools during the current fiscal year and revisit other streets in FY26.
