Description
PLEASE put a speed bump in on Ford Avenue. So many of us in this neighborhood have requested a speed bump to reduce cars speeding at 60+ MPH on this neighborhood road. No one stops at either stop sign. Everytime we request this, the response is that the stop signs are too close for additional safety measures. However, a speed bump was put in on Wood Street in this neighborhood which is less trafficked and a longer distance between signs. There are kids living/playing on this street!!!! PLEASE!!!

- Staff · September 25, 2024The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Speed tables are not planned on Ford Ave given the all-way stops at three intersections between Fairfield Way and Mechanicville Turnpike. Contact the Richmond Police Department about enforcing stopping at the stop signs. (804.646.5100)
