Description

The corridor of 25th between Q St and the crossing at just before M St has no marked crossings for pedestrians. The roads are wide and have no traffic calming infrastructure, but pedestrains frequently cross 25th throughout these three blocks. Speed is a major issue here and I would love to see some traffic calming in the area for the safety of pedestrians

The Fire Marshall does not support traffic calming measures on 25th St between Broad St and Nine Mile Rd. This street is classified as an Urban Minor Arterial and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. Another engineer will review your request for crosswalks on 25th St.

A Department evaluation found that the traffic signal at N 25th Street / Q Street creates enough of a gap in traffic that people further down the street have enough time to walk/roll across. This corridor will be evaluated further during an upcoming citywide pedestrian planning effort.
