Description
cars regularly speed on overbrook. it bisects a popular park in a residential neighborhood, lots of pedestrians, bikes, kids. drivers never yield at crossings. it is extremely dangerous. well placed speed humps would make a huge difference. the traffic circles are not effective and make turning left onto the side streets properly (going around the circle, not cutting in front of it) nearly impossible.

- Staff · September 4, 2024The focused approach to speed management first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. There are traffic circles at Hawthorne Ave and at The Terrace. Traffic signals exist at Chamberlayne Ave, Hawthorne Ave, Fendall Ave, and North Ave. Overbrook is also functionally classified as an Urban Collector and a strategic route for emergency vehicles. Given these existing measures speed tables are not planned.
