Description

Vehicles do not adhere to speed laws and/or yield to pedestrians along Main St, even with clearly marked cross-walks and bump outs. I was almost hit by a car today crossing in the crosswalk. While one vehicle yeilded, three others in the next lant blew past, the third almost striking me. Additional traffic calming measures need to be put in place (camera, police presence, additional speed tables, etc) - this is a high foot traffic area, particularly when VCU is back in session.

    The Department is in the process of installing several bump-outs in this portion of Main Street to shorten crossing distances, reduce speeds, and improve sight lines.
