- Staff · August 20, 2024Gaps in traffic for pedestrians to safely cross is a key issue especially on Forest Hill Ave. Marked crosswalks alone are insufficient since pedestrian crash risk may be increased by only providing a marked crosswalk. We must consider using other treatments, such as traffic signals with pedestrian signals where warranted to improve crossing safety for pedestrians. A traffic signal is a capital expense and not planned at 4920 Forest Hill Ave. Therefore, the city has no current plans to mark a crosswalk on 4920 Forest Hill Ave. Crosswalks and pedestrian signals are available on Forest Hill Ave at Westover Hills Blvd and at Jahnke Rd.
