Description
This particular corner, due to vegetation alongside the road, and the particular angle of the turn, has a dangerous blind spot for traffic going west as well as east on Riverside. Turning left onto W 30th is really dicey with oncoming traffic going uphill. This area could use a curved mirror festure to see about oncoming traffic either side. And for people to slow on the curve because folks access the sidewalk here.

- Staff · July 24, 2024The Manual for Uniformed Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) contains the national standards governing all traffic control devices. All public agencies with roads open to public travel across the nation rely on the MUTCD to bring uniformity to the roadway. A convex mirror is not a traffic control device and not installed by the Dept of Public Works. This request was sent to Urban Forestry to review and trim vegetation as needed at the intersection of Riverside Drive and 30th St to enhance intersection sight distance.
- Staff · September 25, 2025Per TB notes, this concern was email to Urban Foresty for maintenance. I am closing the request.
