Description

A stop sign is needed for cars traveling West on Idlewood to stop at the intersection of S. Addison Street and Idlewood Street. Currently, many vehicles drive right passed the intersection and enter the 2300 block of Idlewood traveling the wrong way. The 2300 block of Idlewood is one way going East. This raises the possibility for head on collisions.

The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. An eight-year search of the DMV crash data base (1.1.16 – 12.31.23) revealed one reported crash. The intersection of Idlewood Ave and Addison St does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop. The intersection also has two One-way signs and one Do Not Enter sign so additional signing is not planned.
