Description
When making a right turn from 1st St onto Canal it is impossible to see if there is oncoming traffic because of the hill and cars parked on the street. Cars come flying over that hill and it can be terrifying trying to pull out onto Canal. Can we get signs for the traffic on Canal (between 2nd and 1st) to warn them that there is a blind intersection at the top of the hill so that they might slow down and use caution? It might make our trips to the expressway less of a gamble.

- Staff · June 6, 2024An eight-year search of the DMV crash data base (1.1.2016 – 12.31.2023) only revealed one reported crash and it was a “rear-end” type on Canal St west of 1st St. An existing No Parking sign exists on Canal St about 25’ east of 1st St. DPW will check and make sure the sign is visible.
