Description
Submitted RPD000002527, Report Speed Violations in Community, but it is a long-term issue so re-submitting as Request for Traffic Calming Assessment (as ticketing a few people won't be enough). People are speeding horribly in this area (W. Roanoke Street), then hit the curve in the road and lose control. There have been dozens of accidents, not all reported because the driver fled. We need some traffic calming put in place. The last straw was when a reckless driver took out my own car! Pls help!

- Staff · May 29, 2024The Fire Marshall will not approve speed tables on Roanoke St between Semmes Ave and Midlothian Turnpike given the daily traffic of 9,000 vehicles a day and the functional classification of Urban Other Principal Arterial. Roanoke has measures to influence speeders including $200 enhanced speed fines as approved by a City Council Resolution and the pavement has been narrowed in each direction for a marked bike lane.
