Description

Good afternoon. This is now my fourth time messaging about the same site. After a previous message, the construction fence was extended and plastic barriers were setup to create a pedestrian pathway. It has been a few days now where the barriers have been compressed such that the pathway cannot be used and today they were disassembled and other construction equipment is blocking sidewalk crosswalks. Is there aupposed to be a pedestrian pathway? What about equipment blocking sidewalk entrances?

An inspector has visited this location on multiple occasions and continues to monitor activities; recently the contractor was digging a trench out into the street to install a sewer lateral, this required temporary closure of the street and sidewalk; the pedestrian access route was also temporarily constrained but is being re-established. In the event of future closures, contractor has been instructed to provide additional informational signage. We are considering re-directing pedestrians to the opposite side of the street for the duration of the project.
