Description

Edgewood Ave is a main access road into Northside and is always busy. People speed a lot and hit cars when turning at the bend at the top of the one way street. Would love to see a bumper! A lot of kids around because we are near the tennis courts and pool.

The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. The Edgewood curve between Montrose and Essex is now posted at 15mph. Edgewood measures about 900’ from the curve to Essex where it stops. The distance between Essex and Brookland Park Blvd where Edgewood stops is about 500’. Speed tables are not planned on Edgewood.
