Description
Please reassess traffic flow to consider a flashing red/yellow for this intersection. Not enough traffic comes through on 18th, for a full signal. Cars travelling across 18th on Venable end up sitting at an empty red for 5 minutes at a time. Constant refrain at this light is “there’s no reason we’re sitting here.” Thank you for considering this.

- Staff · May 16, 2024The traffic signal shop has been advised to check the operations and timings at Venable St and 18th St. A major improvement project is planned in the immediate area of the I-95 NB off-ramp to Oliver Hill Way. Improvements include several traffic signals being replaced with roundabouts.
