Description
Greetings. Currently, the intersection between Kensington and Nansemond is a two-way stop, meaning that Nansemond traffic has to stop while Kensington traffic keeps going. Problem is, the intersection looks like a 4-way stop and too many people treat it that way. Also when you're trying to cross Nansemond it is hard to see the traffic coming from Kensington. As a result, we get a lot of accidents and near misses. Can you please make the intersection a 4-way stop?

- Staff · May 3, 2024The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Kensington Ave and Nansemond St do not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop.
