Description
No VDOT standard guardrails exit above the North or South sections of Longview Drive directly above the culvert pipe and RVA DPU stormwater channel. A sheer drop of eight to ten feet is evident here. Black and white delineation markers will NOT prevent a vehicle from sliding down the embankment in the event of an accident. This culvert & vertical drop are along the route to 3 James River Park System sites along Riverside Drive. Emergency first response personnel frequently drive here.
