The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section (straight section) without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Douglasdale Rd stops at Blanton Ave, Belmont Ave and at McCloy St. The longest distance between stops into the neighborhood development is about 1000’ therefore speed tables are not currently planned. 25mph signs exist in each direction and a marked bike lane exists along Douglasdale. The all-way stop at Douglasdale and Belmont was installed via a City Council Ordinance. If the Ordinance was rescinded, then we may be able to entertain speed tables on Douglasdale pending the Fire Marshall’s support.
