Description
Brookland Park Boulevard needs to be safer to cross. There are many people that live north and south of this street that should be able to safely cross by foot and by bicyle. There are already crosswalks painted here but without stop signs, cars are able to speed through here, making it unsafe and difficult to cross. Please implement traffic calming such as four-way stop signs, speed tables, street trees, etc.

Comments
- Staff · April 21, 2024Cityworks ID: 527484
- Staff · April 25, 2024The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Brookland Park Blvd and Montrose Ave does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. The City Fire Marshall does not support speed tables on Brookland Park Blvd because it is classified as an urban minor arterial and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles.
