- System · April 23, 2024Citizen states that he is following up on the speed control from request# DPW000164096. Citizen wants the engineer to be able to come out to speak with him about the speeding on his street, he is aware that the speeding mph is correct which he agree, but citizens is actually going over the speed limit.
- Staff · April 24, 2024This request was referred to the DPW supervisor as requested per your call to the City’s Department of Citizen Service and Response.
- Staff · May 8, 2024This request was sent again to the DPW supervisor.
- Staff · June 7, 2024Transportation Engineering Division (including program manager) has had multiple email and phone conversations with the citizen who has submitted multiple service requests for Libbie Ave. Several years ago, the City’s Transportation Engineering Division developed a roundabout concept for the Libbie/Guthrie intersection, but there was no funding to build it. As a low-cost alternative, the City redesigned the street with back-in angle parking intended to take up street space, provide on-street parking, and calm traffic. Speed is a citywide problem. Libbie Ave is not on the high injury network, which is where the most severe injuries and deaths occur. The high injury network has to be our priority for speed management resources. The City continues to monitor Libbie Ave, and at this time, no changes are planned.
