Description
Multiple areas around trees in 3100 block of Monument Avenue on the south side of Monument have large loose chunks of concrete and elevated areas of concrete. Need to cut out around trees and remove loose chunks, but ideally redo entire sidewalk like the 3000 block sidewalk construction last year one block east of this request. This request was made two years ago, but there has been no response to date. Please try to address this before someone is injured. Thank you.

- Staff · June 6, 2024Thank you for contacting the City of Richmond’s Department of Public Works. Your request was received by the Division of Sidewalk Maintenance. Upon inspection, the assessed area has been referred to maintenance for a process called concrete shaving; a process which evens out the sidewalk and eliminates tripping hazards. In order to receive the best quality of service, RVA311 requests should be limited to three (3) separate requests per household. Multiple requests associated with the same block of sidewalk and/or duplicate requests severely slow down the response and repair to damaged locations. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding of the request and resolution processes associated with sidewalk maintenance.
