Description
There is a crosswalk on the corner of Walton Ave. and Chamberlayne Ave N. that literally nobody stops for. If the intention is for pedestrians to have the right of way, which is the case when there is a crosswalk, further traffic calming measures are needed, such as a crosswalk sign with blinking lights, or a traffic light to stop traffic. The current measures are not effective and will result in injury if further steps aren't taken.

- Staff · April 1, 2024Crosswalks are planned on Walton Ave at Chamberlayne Ave. Flashing lights is a capital improvement and not in the draft 2025 Capital Improvement Plan. Pedestrian crossing warning signs exist now on Chamberlayne in both directions.
