Description
We work in the commercial building on the corner of N 25th St and E Franklin-nearly every day there is a near miss screeching tires accident at this intersection. Speed bumps would be a great addition, 4 way instead of a 2 way stop or another light. SOMETHING. Cars, trucks, and buses FLY down N 25th street heading south. We have witnessed 4 accidents at this intersection since we purchased this building in 2018.

- Staff · March 18, 2024The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before proposing a traffic control signal or an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. Warrants in the MUTCD must be met. DMV crash data for the latest six-year period showed one reported crash. The intersection of E. Grace St and N. 25th St does not meet the conditions set forth in the MUTCD for a traffic control signal or for an all-way stop. The Fire Marshall does not support traffic calming measures on 25th St between Broad and Main. This street is classified as an Urban Minor Arterial and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. Google street view shows crosswalks on all four intersection legs and pedestrian warning signs in each direction on N. 25th St. No additional measures are currently planned.
