Description
There are multiple bus stops on staples mill road between broad street and monument avenue and no crosswalks. Lots of pedestrians cross this 4 lane road and the speed limit is 35mph, which means drivers are mostly speeding around 45mph. Speed bumps/tables should be installed since nothing else is being done to protect pedestrians. Does this street really need to be 4 lanes? The city says they have commited to VisionZero, but not much is being done to make it safe for pedestrians.

- Staff · March 5, 2024Staples Mill Rd between Broad St and Monument Ave is a strategic rote for emergency vehicles and the Fire Marshall does not support speed tables. DMV crash data for the latest eight-year period did not reveal any reported pedestrian crashes. Staples Mill Rd is posted with two 35mph signs in each direction.
