Crossing Evansway from Ashdown to get to the safety of the sidewalk is very dangerous for our community, due to oncoming traffic from all directions. A 4 way stop sign would improve the safety for all.

The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD: A. Crash Experience a. Eight-year DMV crash history shows no reported crashes. B. Sight Distance a. Meets the minimum design sight distance standard for the posted 30 mph speed limit. C. Transition to Signal Control or Transition to Yield Control at a Circular Intersection a. Not applicable D. 8-Hour Volume (Vehicles, Pedestrians, Bicycles) a. Does not meet the minimum required volumes for eight hours of an average day. E. Other Factors a. There is no need to control left turn conflicts. b. Neither Ashdown Rd nor Domino Rd is classified as a collector. c. Pedestrian and/or bicyclist movements are minimum and do not support the installation of all-way stop control. The intersection of Evansway Lane and Ashdown Rd/Domino Rd does not meet any of the MUTCD warrants for an all-way stop.
