Description
Many people take GRTC to go to Lidl, and the bus stop is across Broad Street. I have seen older people struggling with carts to cross the median in the middle of the block to access the GRTC stop. One woman was standing in the street staring down oncoming traffic. Please create a safe way for them to cross, beginning with a pedestrian crossing sign, and getting more ambitious from there.

- Staff · September 6, 2024Crosswalks alone are not adequate on this portion of W. Broad Street. This is part of the City's High Injury Network, and the Department is working on a combination of engineering, enforcement, and education responses to speed with partners including GRTC and Richmond Police Department. The City has received grant funding for systemic improvements and continues to apply for more regional and federal funding for safety projects.
