Description

Roots from a tree in front of 1201 N 37th Street have caused the sidewalk to have a significant gap/step up which is hazardous. I am a wheelchair user who lives in this part of the neighborhood and I rely on this stretch of sidewalk for regular use, and the gap is so large my wheelchair cannot clear it, and there is no alternative curb off-ramp on the sidewalk on this block, so it is creating a complete barrier to safe access. To be clear, I am not requesting tree removal in this instance, just asking for the sidewalk to be patched so an accessible path is available.

This location has been inspected on 2/6/2024. 15x5 ft section of damaged concrete sidewalk due to tree roots. The repairs will be conducted according to the rating system and safety hazard concerns.

Citizen needs an update on sidewalk repair; Wheelchair gets stuck, caller states is is hazardous/dangerous when she is in her wheelchair. Caller states she visits on the opposite side of the street where the repair is needed and she is not able to visit neighbors safely
