- Staff · December 28, 2023Gaps in traffic for pedestrians to safely cross is a key issue. Marked crosswalks alone are insufficient, since pedestrian crash risk may be increased by only providing a marked crosswalk. We must consider using other treatments, such as traffic signals with pedestrian signals where warranted to improve crossing safety for pedestrians. A traffic signal is a capital expense and not planned. Therefore, the City has no plans to mark a crosswalk on Grove Ave at Clarke Rd at this time.
