Description
People are always speeding down this stretch of Barton Ave. I have requested this several times but have been told they cannot put a speed hump because there is a speed limit sign. Every street that has a speed hump also has a speed limit sign. The corner of Barton and Dove is also a school bus stop. There needs to be a speed hump on Barton and Dove before someone gets hurt.

- Staff · December 28, 2023The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Barton Ave between Dove St and Brookland Park Blvd stops at Lancaster, Hooper, Essex and Brookland Park. The distance between any stop signs measures less than 950’ so speed tables area not planned. Barton Ave between Poe St and Dove St stops at Roberts and at Dove St. Speed tables are not planned given the stopped conditions and measurements between the stopped conditions measured less than 600’.
