Description
Requesting assessment for traffic calming measures between 7118 Cherokee Road and 7140 Cherokee. Area has multiple wrecks per year. White/black vertical posts installed by the city help some, but cars continue to lose control. Observations include speed as a factor, and drivers at scenes report the narrow road and oncoming traffic as factors. Worn/absent pavement marking (request made June 2022) also contributes to danger. Damage also to adjacent lots/mailboxes/shrubs/homes. See photos.

- Staff · December 19, 2023The Cherokee Rd corridor is signed for: 25mph, low shoulder drop offs, enhanced $200 speed penalties and has two speed tables. Object marker sign posts are signed in the area of 7118-7140 Cherokee Rd. DPW will field check and make sure all signs are in place and in good condition. We are not planning to install more speed tables at this time.
