Description
The cars going south start to speed up at Spring St. to 45-60 mph and cross the bridge going over 50-60 mph. A pedestrian was killed at Holly & Belvedere. The Open High School students often cross Belvedere to go East to the War Memorial/bus stop. It is very dangerous for driver and pedestrian.

- Staff · December 14, 2023Belvidere has a good coverage of speed limit signs. Traffic calming measures are not planned since it carries 24,000 vehicles a day and a strategic route for emergency vehicles. A pedestrian hybrid beacon is planned on Belvidere near the War Memorial. When activated by a pedestrian this device will stop all traffic when a pedestrian crosses Belvidere. Perhaps you want to contact the Police Dept on the speeding concern.
