Description

People speed up and down the street. It's heavily trafficked because it connects to Grayland / S. Stafford, which is a cut through to/from 195/Idlewood. Speed bumps would slow them down.

The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Given the RVA311 incident information address of 101 N Stafford Ave, this is about ½ way between Main and Hanover. Therefore, speed tables are not planned on Stafford Ave given the length of the street at around 1300’ and stopping at Main, Floyd, Grove and Hanover.
