Description

The section of W 24th St between Semmes (first cut through street off Semmes) and McDonough has turned into a road where people drive 40-45 miles per hour daily. I (along with nearly every one of my neighbors) support the addition of a 4 way stop at the corner of McDonough and W 24th St. There are currently stop signs at this intersection on McDonough but nothing on 24th, which is the issue. A previous request (supported by nearly all neighbors) for a speed bump was sadly denied.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of W. 24th St and McDonough St does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop.
