Description
Pedestrian crossing on Jahnke is unsafe. Cars do not yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk and parked cars along Jahnke make it difficult to see whether it is safe to cross. WHES staff have to function as crossing guards in the morning and afternoon to ensure safe crossing for children and parents.

- Staff · December 11, 2023DPW has a project to improve Jahnke Rd between Forest Hill Ave and the CSX RR crossing. Pedestrian improvements include sidewalk work on both sides of the street, ADA ramps and remarking the crosswalks on Jahnke at Boscobel, at Dorchester and at Forest Hill. Flashers are not planned at this time. Construction is planned to start next year.
