Description

Beyond the sidewalk repair needed at this intersection, additional traffic calming measures, speed/traffic enforcement are needed. Yesterday, I witnessed an elderly woman who was unable to use the pedestrian/protected sidewalk of Leigh St viaduct because of the broken sidewalk ramp, a scooter obstruction and traffic pattern. So, she used the bike lane where she was unprotected and feet away from cars routinely speeding 15-20mph the limit.

    Traffic calming is not planned on Leigh St near 12th St because Leigh St is classified as an Urban Minor Arterial, carries about 10,000 vehicles a day and is a strategic street for emergency vehicles. Passed along the concern about the sidewalk repair to the appropriate person.
