Description

Stop sign request on 29th before crosswalk to playground. Traffic is picking up (speed and volume) due to new playground and PRCF programming at ball fields. Playground is close to street, and there is concern and some close calls of little kids getting hit by a cars. There are also cars going the wrong way (one way).

    The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of W. 29th St and Porter St does not meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop.
